If your Samsung refrigerator display shows OF OF, O FF, or simply OFF, it is not broken. It is in Demo Mode (also called Showroom Mode).
This mode is used by retailers to light up the fridge on the sales floor without turning on the compressor.
- The Symptom: The lights work, but the fridge is warm and the compressor is silent.
- The Good News: You do not need any parts. You just need to turn it off.
How to Turn Off Demo Mode
Different models use different button combinations. Try these in order until the fridge chimes and the temperature appears.
- Combination A (Most Common): Press and hold Energy Saver + Power Freeze simultaneously for 3-5 seconds.
- Combination B: Press and hold Freezer + Power Cool for 3-5 seconds.
- Combination C (Touchscreens): Go to Settings > System > Cooling Mode > Off.
Once the temperature appears on the screen, the compressor will kick on within 5 minutes. Your fridge is fixed.
Still Not Working?
If the display is normal but the fridge is still warm, you might have a different issue. Check for fan errors (like 22E) or sensor errors (like 5E).
